As of 2024, Americans traveling to Europe are required to apply for the European Travel Information & Authorization (ETIAS) online.

  • Applicants with a criminal background maybe denied authorization.
  • ETIAS authorization expirations or upon passport renewal, a new ETIAS application and fee is required.
  • Fee is $8/€7 and nonrefundable.
  • Not required for employees or students with extended stays.
  • Passport biographic details page is machine readable.
  • Passport should have a chip.
  • Persons with health risks such as: Hantavirus, Hepatitis A or B, HIV/Aids, Rabies and/or Tuberculosis maybe denied authorization.
  • Process approval can take up to 30 days.
  • Required for business, leisure, medical reasons or transit travelers.
  • Required for all nonEU citizens traveling the Schengen area.
  • Requirement of all countries whom do not require a VISA.
  • Requirement from: Antigua, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Bosnia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, Georgia, Grenadines, Grenada, Guatemala, Herzegovina, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Macau, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Nevis, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Macedonia, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Samoa, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, Tobago, Tonga, Trinidad, Tuvalu, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of AmericaUruguay and Venezuela.
  • Schengen Area entry is subject to border control authorities. 
  • Valid up to 90 days within a 180 days in the Schengen Area.
  • Valid biometric passport should be less than 10 years old and not expire within 3 months.
  • Valid for 3 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
